Thomas Rowe is Program Leader — Influenza, Drug Development Division — at Southern Research Institute, located in Birmingham, AL. Southern Research is a not-for-profit organization that conducts basic and applied research in the areas of preclinical drug discovery and drug development, advanced engineering, environmental and energy production. Mr. Rowe’s research interests include development of improved vaccines for biological threat agents, development of diagnostic assays for the detection of newly emerging viruses, and cell-mediated immune responses to respiratory viruses. Mr. Rowe has authored or co-authored more than 60 professional articles, abstracts, and presentations. He is a member of American Biological Safety Association, American Society for Microbiology, and American Society for Virology.
